Because this year’s OrSem will happen in the sesquicentennial or 150th year of the Ateneo, the theme for OrSem 2009 is an Ateneo village which was “established in 1859”. Hence, the college covered courts will serve as the Ateneo village, showcasing the 150 years of Ateneo history and tradition, and featuring the important people, events, places, etc. that played a big role in the 150 years that the freshmen need to know.
OrSem 2009: “EST. 1859” will welcome the freshmen to the Ateneo community by introducing to them the Ateneo Way- the culture and tradition of the university. This year’s OrSem will serve both as an introduction and a flashback: an introduction to the Ateneo as the freshmen’s new alma mater, and a flashback of the 150 years of history and tradition of the university.
