This thread is for all music lovers out there - esp the one who can play musical instruments, sing & are passionate about them.
BTW, I'm Roselyn Ko, BS Life Sciences... Super layo ng course ko sa music pero certified music lover parin ako all the way! I can play the piano, the violin, the recorder (the small flute-like instrument) & a little bit of drums. :) I'm a big fan of rock music all the way. :D

I love music as well! ^^ I play the piano, flute, and recorder. :) But of course not real good like the professionals. Haha. xD As for singing, don't ask. Haha. I sing when I'm alone or with my family but never outside. >

During the 4th year hs, my band won 3rd place in the battle of the bands, I'm the bassist/guitarist/back-up vocals of the band, I also have another band where I'm the vocalist
actually, me and 2 of my friends who are going to admu too are planning to start a band, and in need of a drummer, hahaha, my 2 friends also have experience in battle of the bands, they're great
i'm don't like a specific genre, as long as it's good to the ears I'll like it XD

bass voice. but I started out tenor. I guess it's the trend in the choir, your voice changes dramatically. the sopranos probably went from bass up. including my sister. XD

hahaha, I can do bass too, but it's kinda harder for me to do, I can do soprano too, but only in very high notes, I have a very weird falsetto (think of squee and spleen and you'll know XD)

I'm in the middle (and struggling kasi mahirap na tlga cya) of Suzuki Book 9 sa violin (Level 9) out of 10 levels... Sa piano naman, I stopped sa Grade 4 nung 3rd Yr HS (pero sayang rin malapit na ako maggrade 5, as in ung last level na tlga).. Recorder, I just took the class way back in elementary, siguro mga grade 3 lng ako nun, then the teacher recommended me to join the Band class instead kasi nagvaviolin rin ako..

Electronica is one of the best genres!
Some electronica bands I love are Kill Hannah, Mew (though Mew also play songs from other genres. One song I recommend is "The Zookeeper's Boy"), Shiny Toy Guns and The Sounds.
As for me, I used to be in a band. I was the lead vocalist. Though I also play guitar and bass when we're short of a member. I'm not very good, but I know the basics.

I find it impossible to imitate the alto's, hahaha
I think the alto range is high for boys. In some chorales, the boys who do alto parts are the extremely superb sopranos. But that is if the choir needs it, if it lacks girls or the piece is too complicated that it requires various voice ranges :D
Nevertheless, girls should really be doing the alto part ;)

I've been in a couple of bands in high school that play mostly rock or pop. Minsan guitar, bass, or vocals. We've had a whole lot of gigs with one of the bands, but we stopped playing after we graduated from high school. After that, a couple of the members started a new band that's presently very active in the college band circuit. They're pretty good. :) I've been filling in for some bands as a sessionist, but I haven't been in my "own" band since then. Demanding kasi sa panahon at sa relationships eh. Nakakaaffect rin minsan sa academics. Honestly, I'm not that good but I still enjoy performing once in a while.

I play the guitar ^^, though i cant do improv haha...mostly chords and tab reading...i'm self-thought, ssooo what do you expect :P ? I jsut play to relax myself, and singalong to my fav songs :D
Back in 4th year i joined an amateur band with a couple of my fellow classmates...(shortlived though :P )...since we already had a guitarist, i was forced to play the bass, well for me it was mostly "tab-reading"... ^^
I remember we made a tagalog version for the song "The River" by Good Charlotte, for a song competition during Environment Week, and won!, (good times! ^^)

during my 3rd yr in HS, won Battle of the Bands or BotB together with 4 other batchmates. we played Sweet Child O' Mine as our finale.:)
