Smoking Areas?

We had a quiz in a subject last week...The items asked were very silly...blankstare

One of the questions was: "How many are the smoking areas in the Ateneo?"

After the quiz, the teacher said "eight sa alam ko"...

Is it true? If so, where those eight LOCATED?

Note: This is just for informational and educational purposes on my part....blankstare
Just for curiosity...biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

P.S.: Please post some reactions on the smoking areas in the Ateneo...Are they really needed? Is smoking REALLY "needed" by smokers?...

Perhaps the well-known ones are found:

1. Behind SOM
2. Behind Faura
3. Somewhere between Cervini-Eliazo and the trike terminal across Gonzaga
4. The parking space across the Social Sciences Building. I don't know if it really is a designated smocket, but I've seen people smoke there on a regular basis.
5. Beside Bellarmine Hall

That's all I can remember for now :))

A little bit of history...

The smockets were not as inconspiciously laid out as they are now. The SOM smocket used to be a bit closer to the concrete walkway leading to the SOM building itself (what's left now are the concrete benches). The same happened to Faura, which was just right behind the rear exit. There used to be a smocket in that small patch of grass at the end of the corridor of Kostka Hall. There also used to be one just outside of SEC-C, but they moved it across the street, beside the waiting shed. That one was moved again, this time near Cervini-Eliazo.

BTW, I smoke, but not on a habitual basis anymore. I'm trying to stop completely. I'd prefer that Ateneo didn't have smockets to discourage non-smokers to start smoking. However, I'd also hate to see the people go. Smocket regulars know each other, and most of them are pretty friendly. You might be able to see your profs there, too. It's a bit like drinking, I guess. It kind of brings you together. But still, it's definitely bad for your health.

I discourage non-smokers to even start smoking. You shouldn't need it. :)
