Hi!  Yes, the JGSOM strictly follows a dress code.  That means no sleeveless, no short shorts, no gym wear, and no slippers.

As for the three-finger rule, I think that applies to sleeveless shirts.

Please do try to observe the SOM dress code.  Failure to do so, and your teacher will send you out of the classroom, and you might be marked absent.  Although some teachers are lenient, Dean Ang sometimes roams around the classrooms and checks the dress code , and he might be the one to send you out of the room.

What to expect?  Since you're a freshie pa, you'll be having subjects such as Math, English, Lit, NatSci, PE.  For the second sem, you'll be taking up Calculus.

Hope that helps!  :)

follow the dress code on your first day to be sure. wink since most of your subjects are core subjects (natsci, english, lit, filipino, etc) and not SOM subjects, the profs would likely allow you to wear anything you want.

some teachers are cool to some extent but others will make you experience hell (no pressure though. haha).

good luck and God bless!

BTW for the BS ME students:

I highly recommend that you attend the MEA Prepcourse.
You would know a lot of your program-mates plus there would be a lot of upperclassmen that could give you tips. biggrin

I shifted to the ME program before sophomore year then got 2 D's(ITM14 and Accounting20) so I'm back in BS Mgt.
I got an A in Ma11 and Ma19 but B is enough in order to shift to ME. Hope that helps. :)

If you don't get it, think of it as this way:

The grade requirements for that course was put by the Ateneo as a safety measure. If the line were not there, everybody could just enter the course but not everybody could handle it. Thus, they would be kicked out of the course and repeat college (wasting their time).

But I believe you can get into it, just believe in yourself smile

It's basically like MGT just with an H lol

Haha.

MEA prep course activities would likely to include:
*a real life business simulation where you would undergo budgeting to create a product and get to sell it wink
*an amazing race (so i guess you should wear shoes fit for running)
*quizbee (quick facts about admu and mea)
*talent portion
*a lot of talks! (experiences and tips from upperclassmen and some profs i guess)
*a lot of group dynamics since you'll be divided into groups.

A text message vs. a phone call
*nothing to worry about it. it actually depends on the facilitators assigned to your groups. some prefer calling the participants while others prefer the impersonal way i.e. texting! haha.

But if you think you can, why not? Most Mgt-H people stay after their freshman year, it's accounting that trims people off, but you can always, always give everything a try :)

SPOILER MO RAY! We're not allowed to divulge what will happen in the Prep Course! Ayan wala ng element of surprise disbelief HAHAHAHA but ME freshies, I'm sure everything rayangle said is very, very incomparable to what you'll experience in the prep course. Waaaaaah I am exciteddd biggrin

Was it prof. Ibarra or something? Anyhoo, I think she'd make the subject interesting. :))

That's Mam Ibarra yes, the chair of Finance and Accounting. I also attended the Accounting class two years ago during Open House.

ERM. Accounting is beyond simple, really. But don't worry about it yet, enjoy your freshman year first! You'll surely miss the *lightness* of the freshman load once you're in second year.
