shifting to ME requires
* a good math grade (i think a B at least)
* a satisfactory grades in all other subjects

check your orsem manual to see the shifting requirements :D

hi! i'm an incoming freshie taking up ME. last week tinawagan ako ng isang student na may Prep Course daw. tapos sabi niya, he'll just e-mail to me the rest of the details pero until now wala pa rin. can anyone tell me the details of the Prep Course for ME? thanks! :)

I will also be taking up ME. Oo nga. May tumawag na isang student regarding dun sa Prep Course. Ano ba ang meron doon? Required ba talagang umattend nun? Kasi galing pa ako ng province kaya nagdadalawang isip pa kami ng parents ko kung aattend ako noon. Sana may magpost ng details tungkol doon. Thanks! :)

The ME Prepcourse is a three-day event which introduces Ateneo and ME life to you guys, the incoming freshmen batch. :) This will give you a chance to meet and interact with your fellow freshies and current ME students and get a feel of what college life is all about.The event will be on June 3-5, 8-4:30 pm at Escaler Hall. Fee of 750, inclusive of food, shirt, and other freebies (YAY!). For further details, kindly refer to the invitations we'll be sending to you.

Nope, it's not required daw. But then big help daw yung Prep course for us. :)

The PrepCourse will give you a feel of how it is to be an ME student. Tatakutin kayo AS IN, pero really, if you just work hard, I'm sure all your subjects (especially the dreaded Ma18ab and Ma21) will be manageable.

BY THE HIGHWAY, for ME students, you have to pass the first two departmental long tests (100 pts each) in the first sem math (i.e., Ma18ab). Pass meaning you have to accumulate 100 points over 200 points. If not, you will be taking the basic track (i.e., Ma18a 1st sem, Ma18b 2nd sem).

The basic track used to be allowable for the batch above mine, but starting with my batch, if we fall into the basic track as a result of failing the first 2 departmentals, we're immediately off the course.

I'm not sure if these regulations will be changed sa batch niyo, so attend the prepcourse for more info din.

Actually postponed na talaga e. According to the VP os LS :|, the earliest time we could have the orsem is around late June or early July daw e. So I'm starting to pray na nothing would happen to our PrepCourse!

You will pass the first two departmentals with a good combination of:

a GOOD prof + answering all exercises in the book (no, seriously) + listening and group studying.

MEA will give a mock-exam (if you fail that, don't worry. It's exaggeratedly hard) for LT1 and some review sessions for LT1 and LT2.

I got an F (12/100) in MEA's mock, but I totaled 133/200 in the first two departmentals (*sigh*)

Sayang, I'm not part of STEPS. I'll try to drop by your PrepCourse though!
