best food: depends on what you're craving. haha.

best places to eat: depends on your location and schedule
gonzaga caf - has the largest collection of foodchains. biggrin still the most convenient place to eat
manang's clubhouse (covcourts) - advisable if you have PE classes during lunch time
restos and fastfoods in katipunan - if you have long breaks
bellarmine caf - most of you will have their intact class in bellarmine hall. warning: limited seats only
ISO caf - as what jrcb said, this is for sisig lovers
LST caf - affordable meals but hidden!
SOM mall (JSEC) - second most convenient place to eat
Cervini Caf - cozy

The LTS caf is way down the road beside the cov courts. It takes a while to get there, mga 10 minute walk from SEC. But it's worth it! Ganda ng view and the food is cheap! haha!

You line up at the stall, order your food, give them your baunan. They'll give you a stub with the price listed on it, then you pay at the cashier. You go back to the stall and hand back the receipt and the stub.

Not sure if the discount will still apply this year though.

So it is not an actual lunch box?

Bring Your Own Baunan (BYOB) is a campaign that was launched last year to reduce waste in Ateneo (disposable paper plates, plastic cups, etc.)

Back then, you could buy food from the caf and take them outside to eat because they used disposable plates and containers. Now, they use plates and cups that you might have had in high school, the ones you couldn't take out of the cafeteria. If you want to take your food out, you'll have to bring your own food containers and jugs. There's a discount for using your own baunan as an incentive.

Or you could take the trike para hindi nakakapagod. May terminal rin dun pabalik. I agree. Nice view and cheap food. Tatanggihan ko pa ba yun? Haha.

Caf food's usually P55 and above, but the prices don't go past P100 (except maybe KFC and the burger stall on the second floor). I think it's the same in the dorm caf.

Which places have the BYOB?

Depends on how hungry you are, how yummy you want your food, where you want to eat, and how much you're really willing to spend. Maraming choices kasi talaga eh. Kahit anong budget mo kakayanin. :p Minsan P20 (that'd nab me a waffle, or a big drink), minsan P50 (dumplings, or a couple of pastries -- bread monster is really good), minsan P75 (Caanan's rice-in-a-box, or two slices of pizza) minsan P100 (whole meal with rice and drinks, and probably a side dish), minsan P150 (it can either be equivalent to a good burger, or two meals!) nagagastos ko for food and drinks.
