Btw, is there any group/org that's about cars, etc? haha.. :D Just wonderin'.
about the COA website, inaayos pa ata ulit. :)
car org, there's one student group (aka "unaccredited") car org called A.C.E. (ateneo car enthusiast ata to). occasionally active-inactive sila, but i think they'll be making an appearance again sa recweek
there are a good number of car enthusiasts around the campus, im one of em :)

the (here's a mouthful) sanggunian ng mga mag-aaral ng mga paaralang loyola ng ateneo de manila, or "sanggu" for short, is the student council.
they have a number of departments and "orgs" where one can join and helpout. two of em are the DSLD (dept of student leadership and development) and DSWS (dept of student welfare and services).
sanggu will also be joining the recweek, so do drop by their booths to inquire. mababait sila (well, lahat naman haha) :)
There is a fee of P100 to sign up for an org. There are interviews for admission in every org, but only a number of them filter out applicants (e.g. CADS, Bluerep, GUIDON), which means most orgs accept you right away once you pay their fee (and show up during the interview, of course).

Is there an org that caters to budding writers and graphic artists? :D
You have three choices: 1. The Guidon (The Official Student Newspaper in English); 2) Matanglawin (The Official Student Newspaper in Filipino; and 3) Heights (The Official Literary & Artistic Publication).
If you have any questions about specific orgs, don't hesitate to post them here. I'll do my best to contact the people I know so your questions can be answered.
BTW, feel free to ask me about any GUIDON-related questions. Or maybe ACOMM related ones? I'm a member of The GUIDON's editorial board and is/was a member of ACOMM.
Sa YFC po, may CLP po ba? or do you have to be a prior member in a community-based bago ka maka-join?
Di raw kailangan e. Sabi nung iba. gusto mo bang sumali dun?
Yup, I'm planning to. =] Kasi my friend invited me to join in their community, sa October or November pa yung camp. So hindi ako sure kung pano yung gagawin.
may entrance charge or whut?! anu pang meron ba sa recweek besides org recruitments?!
yo guys sabay tayo punta recweek!!!
blue2,
sabay tayo punta. ano ba course mo pala? hehe.
Excited na ako mag-org! Rami bang ginagawa dun mga ate at kuya?
Orgs have a lot of activities to offer, but it's really you who should take the initiative and be active! :D Try to join orgs that interest you. But generally, all orgs in ADMU are pretty interesting! :) AJMA, for example is all about marketing. Marketing is basically making/implementing a strategy in order your product to make it ma-benta! hehe. It's interesting since it encompasses advertising, public relations, innovating new products, etc! :)
ALAC sounds pretty interesting. =]. I've always been interested in different cultures. Haha there's so many orgs it's overwhelming (in a good way )
Can I join Kythe even if I'm a freshman? I've read it somewhere that they only accept upperclassmen?

I'm not sure but I heard Kythe will accept freshmen as org members. But that rule started a year ago, if I'm not mistaken. It used to be exclusive for sophomores to seniors.

Ah, thanks Johnny Walker and Bim. That's great since I want to join either Kythe or ALAC.=].
And I'm, like Dawn, curious. Why didn't they allow freshmen to join? :)

may camp ang YFC-A for first time members. of course, welcome na welcome yung mga member na before sa campus and community-based. :)
sobrang bait ng mga tao rito, at hindi lang dahil YFC sila haha. :)
i've just recently become very active in AJMA and i have to say, systems-wise, ang galing! VEry efficient ang lahat ng heads and core-mates unlike with other orgs. But their professionalism n the knowledge n training u get from being in AJMA aren't the only things that will keep u interested in staying there. Fun and creative lahat ng tao so you really do enjoy being a part of it. =) I recommend for any of you who are looking for a really good org life to be active in AJMA!

I think it's because of the kids that kythe caters to. They cater to kids with cancer and it needs some kind of maturity to handle it. :D
I remember the explanation being: Freshies might get too attached to the kids.
Unfortunately, some kids do lose their battle with cancer. Dealing with the loss might be too hard on the freshies who are still adjusting to college life and forming bonds with their classmates.
When Kythe started allowing freshmen to join last year, they still were not allowed to go on hospital visits. They were only allowed to participate in Celebrate Life Parties.
If you're curious about Kythe, its activities and its members, check this out: http://kythe.multiply.com/photos
Oh yeah, Marc Nelson is our unofficial mascot. Hehehe. He drops by some of Kythe's events sometimes to play with the kids. Awesome.

WOW, marc nelson? now, im joining kythe. Hehehe.
No, seriously. I've been wanting to join Kythe for the longest time but I get depressed easily. And matagal akong makarecover sa mga "lost battles with cancer". So, I'm still thinking when will be the right time for me to join. But guys, join Kythe, especially if you think you're emotionally prepared.:)
I'm joining the ADS! Can't wait to experience debate in college (I hope).

Here’s to the crazy ones. The bloggers. The graphic designers. The gamers. The programmers. The social networkers. The ones who have typical lives yet live them out of the ordinary. The ones who breathe I.T.
You may tease them, denigrate them, or criticize them. You may commend them, admire them or praise them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them… …because they change things. They see things differently and strive for something better.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see the promise of brilliance. And this promise never remains dormant. This promise turns into reality. Because here in CompSAt, we create genius.
For the people who are crazy enough to even just think they can change the world… …are the ones who actually do.
