Guys, could you please describe what you think about how Social Life in Ateneo would be...

or what do you expect (for freshmen)

Hmm, basically since you'll be sticking with your course and english blockmates the most, expect big groups of freshies (like you guys) moving around the campus, figuring out what to do next. Here are some of the things you can do during breaks:

1. Eat out at Katipunan! :) Since the caf will be really crowded and hot, avoid the BV by having your food trips at the Katip fast food strip. Not too much though, coz you might be inflicted with the Freshman 15 syndrome (BEEN THERE.)

2. Play Rockband/Wii at BlueSkies (located infront of KFC) or Friispirit (Burgundy Place).

3. Play cards/uno/board games at the caf/Matteo Ricci during non-peak hours (read: lunch time)

4. Sit at the SEC walk plastic benches and spot handsome and pretty Ateneans walking or hurrying to their next class. This place is like attending a fashion show, seriously.

5. STUDY. Errr. Hahaha. At the lib. Haha.

6. Look for a room called TBA.

7. Witness caf raids / auditions of the Blue Babble Battalion, it's always too fun to miss.

8. Attend the Pep Rally sponsored by the Ateneo Athletics Division. It's like an intro to the UAAP, where they'll present all the contestants for different sport categories. The highlight of course is the Men's Basketball Team. Plus, it's required yata for your PE subject.

9. Check the latest promotional materials posted at the promo boards at EDSA Walk. You'll be in the know on when and where the next party will be!

10. JOIN AN ORG! <3 Your Ateneo life will never be complete without joining an organization. It's the lifeblood of the University, plus you get to learn stuff outside classroom. So during breaks, you can go to the MVP Building and bond with the upperclassmen!

Advertisement: For you to join orgs, there's this college-wide event called the RECWEEK 2009 (Recruitment Week 2009). This year's theme is TAKE Flight: Choose your destiNATION. It'll be held at the MVP Roofdeck from June 22-26. BE THERE!

Pardon me for the UBERLY blunt question. But, i do wonder, is the greater number of people in Ateneo really act like the stereotypes of people in Ateneo?
I mean.
You know.
Snob, konyo, maarte, mayabang, mata-pobre and all. O_O

Not really. =)) You should really allow yourself to get to know the people in school more, because Ateneans are certainly better than they look. :>

Hindi. With English blocks, most of your classmates will be groups from different blocks. You might also have course blockmates in your English block. So it's a mix of old and new people. Sa experience ko, nagiging close ang English block palagi, just as much as your course blockmates. Minsan mas close pa nga eh. :p

I think blockings could be by english, your course block (usually math and fil) and your science block.

I think its because some of the past freshmen didn't understand TBA as "To Be Announced" but thought of it as an actual room.

there's the course block for major subjects (and some core subjects like filipino)

and then there's the english block (characterized by the letter "R")

PE and NatSci is anything-goes smile
